The refurbishment of three previously occupied floors within the existing white tower at MediaCityUK to create a new flexible office offering called ‘Arrive’. The development, completed in December 2017, provides 23 fully furnished, high-specification offices ranging from 370ft² to 4200ft² and includes a large hub space with an auditorium, meeting spaces and large external terrace. All were created to encourage collaboration and provide a venue for community events, health and wellbeing activities and business networking within Arrive itself and the wider MediaCityUK campus.

The resulting interiors encourage staff interaction, while offering a contemporary take on the office environment, challenging the existing layouts and include a remarkable attention to detail.

Much of the existing structure is left exposed and complemented with custom-made furnishings, including wooden desks and bright rugs, and lots of greenery; where possible previous fixtures and fittings have been reused.

A legible plan form provides workspaces on either side of a spine corridor that are separated by tall glass walls with imposing full-height doors. Some workspaces look out across MediaCityUK; some look towards the full-height glazed atrium that houses an important suspended art installation, by emerging local artist James Roper. The installation titled: ‘Coalescence’, represents the values of the space; growth, interaction and collaboration while also bringing colour and animation within the feature atrium.

Culture is supported throughout the office by providing an open, varied and interactive floor plan. Because this space is a modern workplace, technology is highly prioritised throughout, and these elements are balanced with soft, informal workspaces and many natural elements. Overall, the building is designed with quality and invention in mind in order to promote the innovation and creativity of the users, while looking out for their well-being with the integration of important amenities throughout the space.

The outdoor winter garden is a grown-up breakout space which is furnished with comfortable seating and tables, a pergola and several cedar-clad huts which were all complemented by formal and informal planting.

The aim of Arrive is to be a catalyst for new and relevant working that requires exchange and stimulation and we've designed a place entirely for that purpose.
